Workshop on Global Business and Technology
Second in a Series
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute was created in 1824 responding to the mandate articulated by Stephen van Rensselaer: “…to apply science to the common purposes of man…” The workshop is our attempt to engage you and your fellow alumni throughout Europe in a serious consideration of how business, the state, and institutional frameworks influence the application of science and technology in modern global society. In fact, we think there is a compelling need to mobilize the intellectual power of people like you to join together to take time to take stock of world events and the place of technology and business in improving the human condition.
Join us for a welcoming dinner on 7th October at the UBS Executive Center in Wolfsberg, Switzerland and for the workshop on 8th October. We have assembled an impressive group of contributors and discussion leaders from the academic world and from industry. The program is highly interactive. These first two workshops provide the genesis of our ongoing Roundtable on Global Business and Technology in collaboration with European universities and industry partners. We welcome your input.
