Research & Publications

Dr. Yayla-Kullu’s research interests include the marketing/operations interface, product variety management, product line design, capacity management and flexibility in manufacturing/service operations. She studies the firm’s operational decisions in response to increasing product variety and increasing competition.

She has publications and papers under review in top tier journals such as Management Science, MSOM and Marketing Science. Her dissertation won the 2008 Runner-up Award in the prestigious APICS George and Marion Plossl Research Fellowship Competition.

Dr. Yayla-Kullu is also a regular reviewer for leading academic journals in the field including POMS, Naval Research Logistics, IIE Transactions, and EJOR. Prior to beginning her academic career, she worked as an internal auditor-investigator for Finansbank A.S., a leading financial institution in Turkey.

Her previous work experience also includes a software company, where she worked as an internal SAP consultant, as well as a glass manufacturing company and a construction materials manufacturing company.
