Research Interests

My research lies in the intersections between information systems and quantitative marketing. Drawing on theory-driven lens and leveraging business analytics on unstructured text/image and high dimensional structured big data, I aim to gain a deeper understanding of user behaviors on digital platforms and its interplay with AI or regulations, to measure impacts and uncover patterns, to practically guide decisions for individuals and firms, and inform policymakers. To do so, I use a collection of methodologies from econometrics, data mining, machine learning, quasi- and randomized experiments. I am particularly interested in the domain of healthcare, societal challenges, and human-AI interactions. My research measures the impact of medical crowdfunding design features and their interaction effects; models the human movement patterns when facing large-scales crises; examines the heterogenous effects of health policy on medical crowdfunding usage; and explores the effects of bots in business applications, etc.
