  • A world class faculty with remarkable business experience in the real world.
  • A faculty advisor to help map a strategy toward completion of the degree.

At the Lally School, we designed this exciting program in response to projected industry needs, today and into the future. Advances in computational processing have created tremendous opportunities for professionals who can apply a technology focus to the heavily analytical side of financial transactions. Because we develop expertise in understanding and applying technology as a key element of finance, our graduates gain a competitive advantage in today's business environment.

Master's Students at Lally Have a Variety of Options for Their Program of Study:

The MS in Management degree is a career path for students with technical expertise who want to develop broader career options that include project management, gain the ability to apply business methods in a specific area, and learn to use technology to create significant value.

Master's of Science in Management with a Concentration in Financial Engineering and Risk Analytics (FERA)

The purpose of this concentration is to provide students with the knowledge and essential skills to respond to the changes and new challenges that characterize the fast changing world of Financial Technology.  The goal is that students master cutting-edge financial theory as well as advanced analytical techniques in the finance industry through rigorous training in empirical research and modeling, using a variety of professional databases and computer software packages.  The concentration offers two tracks - financial technology and financial analysis.  Within these two tracks students will be able to develop expertise in areas such as investment banking, qualitative risk analyst, financial controller and private equity analyst.

Master's of Science in Management with a Concentration in Technology Commercialization and Entrepreneurship (TC&E)

This master’s is designed for those with a burning desire to take that fresh design, that original, unique product to the global marketplace, turning a great idea into a commercial success. The purpose of this concentration is to prepare a new breed of technological entrepreneurs who have advanced understanding of technology, fundamental understanding of commercial functions and analytics, and practical experiences in technological commercialization. Graduating seniors currently enrolled in Engineering, Science, Architecture, selected Humanities & Social Sciences, or Management may chose one of two options: (1) to increase depth in a subfield of their major interest or (2) to learn technology commercialization, from both technology push and market pull perspectives. Graduates from this program would be able to work in many areas such as technology transfer, investment banking, intellectual property management, in-licensing, or out-licensing, business venture funding, product development consulting, technology start-ups, new media, research and development, and government research laboratories.
