The relevance of a business school stems from its contributions to the mission and purpose of the university to serve society.

The Lally School strives to become distinctively excellent in promoting understanding of the commercialization of technologies, an enduring challenge with its roots in the Industrial Revolution, and with growing contemporary significance as the rate of technological progress accelerates.  The school subscribes to the view that technology, generally, is an opportunity for humanity and that commercialization is one important avenue to rendering technology for the benefit of humanity.

The Lally School seeks to transform business education through a rigorous and productive research program.   Lally’s research-oriented faculty focus on advancing business through the basic disciplines of economics, behavioral science and analytical methods.  Within these disciplines, the fundamental functional areas of knowledge are Finance and Accounting, Marketing, Operations Management and Information Systems, and Management and Organizations.
